Ordering, Delivery and Return Information

Please note that due to the COVID-19 health emergency, we are noticing significant USPS and UPS shipping delays.

Individual Orders

Orders are shipped via USPS Media Mail. Allow up to two weeks for delivery. Arrival dates are not guaranteed. We cannot be responsible for carrier delays. Please contact us if you desire expedited shipping.

Sales Tax

All prices displayed on the website are exclusive of sales tax.  Any applicable sales tax on online sales will be calculated during checkout and clearly displayed before you submit your final order.

Retail and Institutional Orders

We accept orders by email to info@nysbooks.com, by phone (607) 326-0052, and by mail. Terms: net 30 days.

International Orders

Canada: $10.00 per book (USD), plus $6.00 each additional.
For all other air rates, please inquire. (The U.S. Postal Service no longer ships parcels by surface). Please pay by credit card.

Most orders shipped within 48 hours.

Gift Service

We will be happy to wrap your gift, enclose your message (no extra charge), and ship it anywhere.

Individual Returns

Orders by individual customers may be returned within 10 days of receipt for a full refund, with shipping charges paid by the customer.

Retail and Institutional Returns

Bookstores and institutions that have placed a direct order via phone or email may return eligible title(s) within one year of placing the order.

  • All returns require preauthorization from us.
  • All returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee.
  • Any claims for damaged or missing merchandise must be received with 45 days of ordering.
  • Books that carry our ISBN and that are currently in print are eligible for return and must be in their new, unread, original condition in order to receive a refund.
  • We cannot refund shipping charges.
  • Shipping instructions will be given with your return authorization. You must use a traceable and insurable form of shipment, such as UPS or USPS Insured.
  • We do not pay for return shipping charges unless the book is damaged, defective, or shipped in error.
  • All merchandise must be free of shelf-wear, store price labels, and markings or other damage.
