About the Book

Alf Evers, acclaimed historian, wrote The Catskills: From Wilderness to Woodstock, Woodstock: The Story of an American Town, Kingston: City on the Hudson, and In Catskill Country, as well as dozens of fiction books for young readers.

Robert Titus, Phd. is the author of The Catskills: A Geological Guide, The Catskills in the Ice Age, and The Other Side of Time: Essays by The Catskill Geologist. For many years his columns appeared in Kaatskill Life magazine and newspapers in the Catskills and Hudson Valley. He is a retired professor of  geology at Hartwick College in Oneonta.

Tim Weidner is the director of the Chapman Historical Museum in Glens Falls, New York. The material for his essay came from a two-year documentation project on bluestone and logging industries in the Catskills, conducted for the Folklife Program of the Roberson Museum and Science Center, Binghamton.
